The yoga community is expanding, with numerous yoga retreats around the world and more people completing 200-hour trainings. This makes the need for an open, welcoming directory more important now than ever. How do we reflect the growth and value the work of all yoga practitioners? How do we connect with each other in a way that feels organic and genuine?
Setu is a community-driven directory that is free and open. We highlight the diversity of the yoga community by inviting anyone and everyone who has completed a 200 hour (or more) training to be featured on the site.
Setu’s high quality profiles — complete with in-depth bios and professional photos — offer both teachers and students a new way to make connections. This is a space for anyone who loves yoga, including yoga teachers not affiliated with studios. We encourage teachers who do private lessons, community center work or grade school teaching to join — and also anyone who has simply completed their training.
Many people want to be part of the yoga community but don’t necessarily feel welcome or invited. It can often be hard to find others who mirror their own background. Setu focuses on building a community that is diverse and passionate. This means connecting yoga teachers of different races, orientations and geographical locations.
We want you to be proud of your presence on Setu and are here to make that happen. More importantly, the site is meant for you to create connections with other yoga lovers from around the world. That’s why we named it Setu — Sanskrit for “bridge”.
We invite you to join our site and create a new definition of what it means to be a part of the yoga community.
